Till Light
Well you stand before me,
sunlight shining through the room:
your shadow cuts my soul in half.
There's a man, you tell me,
we all know he's coming...
it's gonna be bad times for us all.
And all the birds, they fly at night
forming clouds that tell a tale
that no one sees for they are sleeping
till light.
Oh you're so portentous
when you've woken baby...
come on here and lay beside.
And rest your head on my chest,
fold your body over mine
get your head out of that shine.
And all the birds they sing at night,
forming songs that tell a tale
that no one hears for they are sleeping
till light.

Sea Side Song
In a town by a warm sea
they come at night under the moon
They bring their urns and throw the ashes
to the sea and run...
For soon darkness comes
the moon falls below
from the horizon shapes will rise
Then they sleep by the calm sea
Dream their lives and they're gone
Next day, the sun is shining
they fill their urns and run...
For soon darkness comes
the moon falls below
from the horizon shapes will rise...

Lazarus Shuffle
Now Lazarus was a dirty man,
he rose from the grave with mud on his hands, said
Oh my gosh, look at these threads! there's
holes in my clothes and I got maggots in my head!
But O the lord he did lift me up, and now I drink
from his eternal cup.
Everybody gather round you know my story's strange
but my mind is sound:
"There comes a man, his eyes like ice,
he's got the chrome cold fingers and a grip like a vice.
His breath is pure as the fallen snow
and his thoughts are a temple where the wind never blows-
except when he sees you lying in your sin,
then his beard goes all fury and the wind rushes in."
Everybody gather round...etc...
Now Lazarus he had them all a-clucking
like so many zombie chicken running from the Pluck King.
He screamed "please my children, let's have some pride,
there's no fleeing from the lord when he's the holes where
you hide. And it's a sin, to act like a fool
in the presence of a man who was almost a ghoul...”
Now everybody, gather round....
"Now the man of Ice, of lice, of lies
he develops a taste for young virgin thighs-
they're better than whales all stuffed with sailors,
better the 17 shuddering saviours!
And O the lord he did strike him dead
with a bolt of righteous heat to the back of his icy head..."
Now everybody gather round you know my story's strange
but my mind is sound.
Left, right, left right left, do the Lazarus shuffle
dance away from death. (rinse and re-peat)

Run Aground
I stole a boat rowed out to sea
to find my head
but all I found was an empty space
where the sea should be.
One of those days that keeps you down
One of those plans just run aground
When nightfall came I tipped over the boat
and I slept beneath.
And when I woke I heard the northern wind
rustling like a thief.
One of those days....
And a man comes from afar
his eyes shine like ice,
his golden halo is not the haze.
Beneath the boat a little flower grew
and I kept it safe.
But the storms came fast and the waters rose
and washed out every trace.
One of those days that keeps you down
One of those plans just run aground.

A Shiver
Hold on your little heart is not quite ready to be-
Leave, leave me more time.
Your eyes are soft and gentle, I guess
there's nothing to be said
this will is done.
And I feel....
Oh the light is fading
hold this life inside your eyes and you will be loved.
A sigh, a breath, a shiver, a plea for
something greater something more
to take my place.
And I feel
Hold on your little heart is not quite ready be-
leave, leave me more time.
A sigh, a breath, a shiver, a plea for
something greater something more.
And I feel....

The Lion's Teeth
I cannot sleep
you're far from me
I had a dream
you would not believe:
no more people in the world just you and me
So we walked alone
we found a home
we did not sleep
we did not dream
no more people in the world....
We cannot sleep
the lion's teeth
the night is cold
the beast asleep
no more people in the world just you and me

The Lizard
O lord provide me with strength to keep away
from dogs down in ditches howling at the rain.
With your hands on my head holding me aloft
I'll fly into your valley and hang upon your cross.
Will my eyes ever see your land where the air is gold?
Now Lazarus the lizard sheds his tail and runs
and flies have gathered their wings across the sun.
And your dogs are eager they howl a sinner's song.
They gnaw the ropes till I'm crawling on the ground.
Will my eyes never see your land till I'm lying cold?
The woods are dark, dear, cold and somewhat thick.
Like blood on a wolf's breath teeth upon your neck.
And your heart is racing it seems you've lost your way.
O lord provide me with strength enough to flee.
Will my eyes fall upon the hand that cuts your throat?

Queen of the Lake
Oh the ice is so thick, I cannot reach your hand
It slips through my grip.
So, I must try to make a hole
in the ice with my breath, but I cannot see your face...
You've fallen so far, to the deepest part....
She was the queen of the clouds, but she'd never
seen the earth, she only knew the air.
So she clipped off her wings
and drifted through the snow, down to the lake...
You've fallen so far, to the darkest part

Tin Man
A satellite will fall from the sky. Its signal will wrap around your head. And the tin man sleeping by your side will twitch a little and roll over in bed.
And I do miss you.
You gather your lies like stars and bundle them in a cold glass box where they shine a little then slowly fade, far from your sensuous gaze.
And I do miss you.

Russell A Wolf
The wolf falls from the sky to the tall grass where he hides.
His ears prick and find what he's always desired.
On a lonely hill a little light is on. In a lonely house there comes a haunting song
under the moon, the song of the wolf.
You watch and now the wind, the candle is flickering.
Your eyes search to find what you've always desired.
On a lonely night a little light is on. On a lonely hill the wolf sings his song
under the moon, his song for you.

Donna at the Window
The wind gets in through a hole in the window,
this basement is so cold.
Your cries go out through a hole in the window,
to the night and the wind.
Is anybody here?
Does anybody hear?

Nominated for Male artist of the Year & Rock Album of the year, 2012 MNB Awards.
"It’s a gem with a downright impressive range. It’s not an album to be quickly perused and abandoned like most run of the mill albums."
